2002-2003: A-Plus Manufacturing, A Solectron Company, North Andover, MA

6/2002-3/2003: Business Systems Analyst/Supply Line Procurement Engineer

Provide engineering, process, and system support for the material planning and purchasing organizations.

·         Designed and developed an automated process using Access to validate the data migration effort of over 15000 parts from a Unix MRP platform to a client/server MRP platform, saving hundreds of engineering man hours.

·         Designed and developed an Access tool which calculated percentage of use for parts on Bill Of Materials. This replaces a cut and paste manual process and saved the planning group around 20 hours per month.

·         Designed and developed a “user friendly” MS Access reporting database for common purchasing request. This gives non-technical users a means of extracting data required to perform their job functions and not have to do manual database lookups.

·         Developed Access reports for purchasing to assist in the analysis of over 9000 pieces of raw material. This report saved the buyers hundreds of hours of manual analysis. It was a major factor in the company’s ability to complete the closing of the factory on schedule.

1994 – 2002: Lucent Technologies, North Andover, MA

(Formerly AT&T and Western Electric Company)

1999 – 2002: webPLAN System Administrator and System/Process Engineer

Administrator for webPLAN, an NT based client/server Supply Chain GUI MRP system. Responsible for defining and maintaining DB schemas, data imports, system performance issues, and scheduling jobs.

·         Published a webPLAN newsletter informing the user community of what and how others were using webPLAN to assist them in their functions and also included tips on efficiencies of coding.

·         Developed and taught classes enabling end users to create their own reports and freed up IT resources.

·         Tailored vendor provided user-training classes for 4GL user tools and for production system navigation. One class reduced a three-day vendor training class to four hours, saving $1500 per user and also allowed the users to take the course in house and not miss days away from the office.

·         Developed a Vendor Managed Inventory report, which shared inventory, forecast and customer order load with suppliers on a daily basis via email. Resulted in inventory dollar savings and expediting of hot customer orders.

1998 – 2002: Supply Line and Material Logistics Engineer

Provided material planning and purchasing organizations, process and system support for an MRP system.  Designed and wrote the system requirements and specifications for a local system that allowed the purchasing organization to order material from various vendors using the same internal part number. This resulted in reducing Bill Of Material (BOM) and Engineering changes and replaced the process of changing percentages on BOMs.

·         Designed and implemented a Consignment Credit Process, which keeps track of returned to stock material. This process eliminated duplicate billing problems and for the first time, provided an automated and online means of tracking vendor versus Lucent inventory quantities. This process was incorporated into the corporate system.

·         Played a major role in the migration from an IBM IMS purchasing system to a Unix based system. Developed courses to aide the users with the migration with instructions on how to perform functions in the new environment.

1997 - 1998: Component Engineer

Provided technical support for Delay Lines and Disk Drives, and developed automated software processes.

·         Automated the Component Vendor Change Notice Process using UNIX scripts. This process relieved a 6-week backlog of change notices and reduced the weekly time that was required for this job from 30-35 hours per week, to 2-3 hours per week.

1994 - 1997: mfgpro System Administrator

Administrated a UNIX based MRP production system (mfgpro). Developed functional specifications and test scenarios for production systems.

·         Developed a training navigation class and provided user support and training for Progress Results, a 4GL user tool. This resulted in dollar savings by not having to pay for outside instructors.

·         Developed extraction and loading tools for the migration from an IBM IMS mrp system to a Unix based system. Wrote ad hoc reports and extracts for data validation.

Previous Employment with AT&T and Western Electric included:

Information Center Support

Provided support and training for RAMIS, a 4GL user tool on an IBM MVS/TSO mainframe.

COBOL Programmer

Produced IMS COBOL programs to support output reports required by users for a CAM System.

                Product Quality Review Analyst

Study causes of telephone station failures.

Lead Computer Operator on MVS/TSO system.

Lead operator responsible for running a 3 shift 2 location data processing environment.
